Baltic Art Studio was honored to welcome NBC Chicago’s Chicago Today to our Northwest Side studio for a feature on the timeless art of stained glass.
The segment gives viewers a look inside our studio, where historic stained glass conservation, restoration, custom work, and hands-on classes come together.
For many people, stained glass is something they admire from a distance in churches, historic buildings, and public spaces. At Baltic Art Studio, it is also a living craft—one that can be studied, practiced, and shared.
Baltic Art Studio is proud to work on important historic stained glass projects, including the restoration of the Chicago Cultural Center Dome.
Each restoration project requires research, patience, technical knowledge, and deep respect for the original artist’s work. Our team works to preserve historic glass for future generations while honoring the craftsmanship and story behind every window.
The NBC Chicago feature also highlights another important part of Baltic Art Studio: our stained glass classes.
Our workshops give beginners and returning students the chance to work directly with glass and learn the process step by step. Students can explore cutting glass, selecting colors, creating a design, assembling their piece, and discovering why stained glass has remained meaningful for centuries.
No previous experience is needed. All materials are included, and each participant leaves with a handmade stained glass project.
